Quiet tonight, but more storms on the way Sunday. Here's the timing.
Tonight remains quiet under partly cloudy skies with lows in the 70s.
A cold front will bring more rain early Sunday morning with rain beginning as early as 5-6 a.m. mainly northwest of I-4 and then progressing toward the metro by midmorning and then to the south by the afternoon.
A few storms could turn strong to severe bringing heavy rain, damaging wind gusts 40-60 mph, lightning, coin-sized hail, and a brief isolated tornado can't be ruled out.
Timing for the best chance for severe storm development is 8 a.m. to noon, but could linger a little later depending on the actual time the storms get going.
Rain and additional cloud cover will keep high temperatures in the mid-to-upper 80s Sunday afternoon.
Rain chances begin to dwindle to 20-30% for the start of the work week as the weak front clears central Florida. High pressure strengthens drying out the forecast midweek into the start of next weekend. It will be warm in the upper 80s Monday and Tuesday before heading back to the 90s midweek into the holiday weekend.
